Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Version 2.0 (WCAG 2.0, Level AA)

Our current focus is to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0, Level AA compliance, set forth by the World Wide Web Consortium or W3C for short. We also do our best to interface with third-party websites and apps that currently meet or are working toward meeting these guidelines. We admit it's not an easy task, but the benefits of meeting this goal far outweigh the difficulties.

Continued Improvement

Following W3C and WebAIM, our hope is to continue educating ourselves while putting efforts into staying ahead of upcoming changes to the standards and guidelines.

While we continue to curate and maintain this website's development, we'll be following Principles of Accessible Design provided by WebAIM. Headquartered at Utah State University's Center for Persons with Disabilities, WebAIM has provided solutions and expertise since 1999. Our continued efforts include:

  • Designing with readable text but also preserving your ability to adjust the font size
  • Ensuring proper use of ARIA attributes for content when needed
  • Making the site keyboard accessible
  • Providing adequate color and contrast ratios for text readability
  • Compatibility with popular screen readers, OS screen magnifiers, and speech recognition software and packages

Another great resource is My Web My Way, provided by the BBC. It includes accessibility help by offering steps for users to navigate the internet regardless of their ability or disability.
